I know it’s been a long time since I posted. I have been busy dealing with some serious health issues. I am in treatment and I have vowed to focus on nothing but getting well and painting over the next several months, so hopefully you will be seeing more from me.
To be honest, I haven’t painted much. As I said, I’ve been busy and I’m kind of bored. I have it in my head to start experimenting with some different things, but that takes time and initiative and I haven’t really had either. That will change though. I actually just got my oil paints back out after a long hiatus. I am going to do some miniatures to get the hang of them again. I am not abandoning my watercolors, just mixing things up a bit.
So as an example of something different that I have done recently, below is a painting of a scene from Wintergreen that is painted on black paper using acrylics. I wanted to experiment with getting the deep dark aspect of the forest by painting on a black background. It was fun and I liked the result. I want to do more of this.
Stay tuned… more to come soon.
I like it—the black paper and acrylics work well.
Vickie has started her stem cell treatment and has been doing very well. There are few side effects, but hates being stuck in the hospital for weeks. Who can blame her? I hope you do as well.
Thinkin of you two from Texas! Get well and Paint on Cindy-Pain’t on.

well HELLO ! I emailed Nancy, inquiring about you and could not find you on FB. I finally realized I was using “Cindy” . So good to hear from you and I love the painting. I immediately saw a little dog come up and pee on it. I am struggling with my art too. We spent days exchanging bed rooms and we both have very huge heavy mattresses beside all the other stuff. I suffered exhaustion and pain for several days, but before that, just in a slump with my painting with no excuse. It’s happened before. Not having a gallery anymore is a big part of it. Piano piano, you are getting through this difficult time in your life Cindy. Hugs from Florida
Thanks Royane! Yes, I will get though it. In the mean time, I hope my art thrives!
So glad to hear that you’re focusing on the most important things in your life! Your health comes first, of course, but the things that bring you joy (your painting) and creativity are right up there on that list. As the Queen says, “Stay strong and carry on”! Big Hugs – Kathleen
